Criterion B:
Developing Ideas
In this stage you will;
i.
develop
a list of success criteria for the solution (Design Specification)
ii.
present
feasible design ideas, which can be correctly interpreted by others
iii.
present
the chosen design
iv.
Create
a planning drawing/diagram which outlines the main details for making the
chosen solution.
i. Developing a list
of success criteria for the solution
What
are the main features (specs) you want to see in your final product
(Animation).
List
6 of them.
Examples:
Animation
should have an introduction showing the problem situation.
Animation
should have at least 4 characters.
Animation
should have background music.
Refer
to
ii. present
feasible design ideas, which can be correctly interpreted by others
You
will be required to design how you expect your Animation to look like. This
will include the introduction explaining the problem. Look at the examples
below.
http://static2.creately.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/Naughty-mouse-storyboard-template.png
Your
task now will be to design two designs of how you foresee your animation to
look like. You can draw the designs and scan them or use any online design
software that can allow you to design the animation structure/layout.
Some resources that can be used.

ReplyDeleteDear students please write your reflection on Criterion B. Remember to include the following; The skills learnt, what worked for you, what did you enjoy doing, challenges faced, what will you differently.Type in paragraph form and post. Due on 27/09/2014.
ReplyDeleteRegards
Victor
Reflection on Criterion B:
ReplyDeleteIn this effective Criterion we learnt various skills including how to create specifications, how to draw and explain storyboards and how to specify the duration of each step.
The way I did my work worked for me because I spent a lot of time thinking and narrowing down my ideas. I loved drawing the storyboards and interviewing my clients. The challenges I faced were very simple and minimal. It includes creating drawings in storyboards.
Next time I will focus more on drawing many storyboards and doing my work in a shorter period of time.
Luciano, this is to the point reflection. As we begin criterion C, make sure you utilize and use the chosen design accordingly. All the best.

Dear viewers,
ReplyDeleteI find this criteria one of the most effective ones in the unit in DD. It is like the process of burying a seed that will soon sprout in criterion c. What really worked for me was the table for gathering information from various people's, the story board plan and the table of contents for the final animation plan. Through this whole phase I enriched my organization skills, because it was a really short time span to complete this assignement. Not forgetting, communication, because we had to explain to our peers when giving our book to the to rate our story boards.
A serious challange that I faced when I was doing the assignment, was when I had to think of the story boards to draw and explain about it. But I over came it by evaluating my ideas and making two separate subjects of topic (in each story board). What I would consider doing in the next assignment criterion, making shore to visually show my ideas from the specification table.
I overall enjoyed this assignment and look forward to the next criterion.
Kaleem, this is an enriched experience in criterion B. I look forward to seeing you embark on criterion C with enthusiasm. Well done.

ReplyDeleteCriterion B reflection
ReplyDeleteThis criterion has been an effective criterion in one of the units in DD. It was a really good journey, I really enjoyed this criterion. The skills which I learnt in Criterion B is drawing a storyboard, creativity skills, the starting process of making an animation production and also explaining our storyboard.
A really challenging challenge was doing the different
assignments which include of,drawing and explaining our storyboard it was challenging because it was my first time doing all that. But I overcame, my challenge by doing my best in my storyboard so that it will be more detailed and also to be understandable to all my audience(students) and client (Fred).
I am really looking forward to Criterion C. I I hope it will be more challenging than Criterion B.
Thank You
Sabiha, you are absolutely right to stay criterion will be demanding in the sense that you need to put what is on the storyboard to a reality. Make sure you start planing and researching on your animation software in detail. An amazing performance scored in criterion B. Well done.
DeleteHello everybody,
ReplyDeleteIt was a really good journey.
In this journey I learnt 2 important skill that are organization skill without this skill it would have been hard for me to know when to do my work at which time exactly the other one was imagination skill without this skill it would have been hard for us to imagine what mister.Fred is going through with all the work.
The thing that worked for me the most was the storyboard because it was not my first time doing it. So I had an idea with what to do with the storyboard. That was the reason it was easy.
I enjoyed writing my specification I enjoyed writing it because it made my storyboard easy. For me there was no
thinking needed when it came to make the storyboard all because of my specification that is why I enjoyed my specification.
The challenge I faceD was interviewing mister.Fred we all know he is a busy man so 😓 so it was kind of hard to find him free because every time he was free we had class that is where the organization skill come in.
The think I would do differently is my 2 storyboard other than that I am good to go. THANK YOU
Ummi, you need to work on your lessons on time management and improve on Criterion C. Your reflection is informative. Well done
DeleteA wise man once said that " The capacity to learn is a gift: The ability to learn is a skill: The willingness to learn is a choice. Truly it is a choice of wonder. This criterion was choice of wonder,I enjoyed a lot and will not regret the choice.
ReplyDeleteThis experience has left me full of different skills like organization, time management, problem solving and being open-minded. This criterion lots of things worked out for me such as drawing the storyboard and the specification. Even though everything was good i faced some confusion, but with the help of my classmates and Mr.Victor this problem didn't stand to long in front of me.
This experience was good, I enjoyed creating the specification and storyboard. As a response to the good things i have room for improvement. Next time i would like to improve on time-management and problem solving skills. None and the less it was a good experience.
"If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you".
Sonakshi, A wonderful piece written. Work hard and improve on the areas you faced challenges. Keep it up.
Deletehi everybody
ReplyDeletein my journey i learnt many important things organization skills time management skills and learning skills the thing that worked out for me was drawing the storyboards and the specifications.i really enjoy creating my own story board and writing my specification although they were some challenges that i faced example coming up with an idea of creating the story and coming up withe characters and the plan.
what i will do differently next time is to make up a good story board and with a great story and i hope next time when i get another time i will create a better story board
Faith, this is a good piece. Work hard and check on your time management skills. Well done
Deletegreetings everybody:
ReplyDeleteIn my journey through senior school I have learnt things which I never knew before e.g neat organization skills planning skills and time management. Planning my animation was a breeze, but I also faced some challenges, those were :creating story board B and planning quantity of characters in the animation.
Next time I will improve on my organization skills by preparing in advance, therefore I will be better prepared and that will improve my quality of work.
DD criterion B was tiring and exiting. It was a really short time span to complete this work, with the storyboards and everything because we had to explain to our peers when they are marking our storyboards.

DeleteHello
ReplyDeleteIn my journey I learnt many things. I learnt how to make a storyboard and how to analyze my work. It was fun making a storyboard. It was a bit hard but I enjoyed. It was fun making my client, peer and parent mark my storyboard. Next time I want to make a better storyboard then this time. It was a nice experience.
thank you
Criterion B
ReplyDeleteOur unit was Criterion B. We had to draw 2 story boards and ask our peers, parents and client. the storyboard that was chosen was storyboard 2. i got an 8 for my total mark. i have learned that time management skills, organisation skills, etc are very important.
i had followed all my specifications and everyone gave me a five on five, when i was doing the interviews to find which story board to choose.
i really enjoyed the journey through criterion B and cant wait for the Criterion C journey.
REFLECTION
ReplyDeleteI found this experience so interesting because i love drawing and in this criterion we had to draw our story board. I found this criterion so much fun and i think it was the best criterion so far.
This journey wasn't as expected....it was way better . I think i will do better in the future with the help of Mr.Victor
I had some challenges when i first joined this class but now i find fun, exiting and a little bit tiring. I have learned a lot like keeping time and punctuality.
ReplyDeletehi,
ReplyDeleteIn y journey of criteria B,i never expected to get my marks to increase. I really enjoyed doing my storyboard 1 and 2. For me i chose storyboard 1 because it had more ideas and storyboard 2 was using normal ideas. I even learnt that it doesn't matter if you are doing criteria A or B, you need to have or learn using (time management). I am looking forward to get a 8 in criteria C.
I really worked hard in all this criteria and going to continue...
Thanks
Tanya
my experience in criterion B has been a rocky ride. i learnt different skills like how to draw a storyboard. i faced some challenges like meeting all the dead lines. in criterion c i will try my very best to meet all the dead lines and get 7-8.I would like to thank these people on helping me complete my criterion B; Mr.Fred, Ms.Fatuma, Sabra Mustafa
ReplyDeleteIn my days during the Criterion B, I have had an amazing experience. I have learnt many skills that I have learnt before. The way of teaching here has been fluent and in a way that I understand thoroughly. This has helped me through many tough situations, all the skills I have learnt about organization and much more.
ReplyDeleteThis experience is led me develop many different skill that helped me in drawing my storyboard and writing my specification. I have not done many things like we did, the task were not what I expected but they were amazing. Drawing the storyboard and planing the work was fun and was creative. Mr.Victor played a big role in what happened, he explained everything nicely and understandably that definitely contributed to everything i did
This was a great experience and I hope everything will continue going well and smoothly.
Helllo everyone
ReplyDeleteMy expirience in dd criterion B was intresting because i got to learn more and to see were i can improve.
i face challeges with fred marking the chart so i gave it to someone else.
I learnt more reseaching skills and organization skills.
I could have done better on my explanation.
hi everybody
ReplyDeletei somehow had a nice and peaceful lessons in the dd room.i mostly enjoyed doing the sketches of my to be presentation.i enjoyed when most of my clients choose the one i mostly like.
the challenge i mostly faced was a about how to draw the sketches but later on i got to know how to draw the sketches on my book and that was the challenge i mosey faced.
i think next time i should listen keenly to the instruction given. thank you. mwinyi
hi sir and classmates my reflection about criterion b
ReplyDeletesenior school has been a wonderful journey and i love dd beacuse we have to be digital and also its fun and i have never made an animation and i am exited to make one
thanks
kavya
Hello everybody...
ReplyDeleteDigital Design has given us the technology that humans have invented inside deep into our brains. Technology has come recently and we can do whatever we want with
In this criterion i have experienced more than i expected. there is so many websites we can use to make animation for "free". We had to make two storyboards for three people and they had to choose one, they also had to mark and comment about my storyboard
We had to include many things for example specifications, characters, and not forgetting having more than five scenes. it gave me a good grade.than god i got a "6".
I learnt one important thing, its that anything is possible, and there is so many websites just to make a free animation.
Regards
Naeem THANK-YOU
During criterion B i have gone through an exciting journey and learnt many skills including: How to create a storyboard, the importance of a storyboard, how it helps organize your work and how it makes creating an animation easier and we also learnt how to specify all of our points that we are going to present
ReplyDeletethe things that worked out for me were: Organizing all my points that i was going to present in the animation, creating the storyboard which i found easy, fun and informative all at the same time and explaining m storyline through the storyboard.
the challenges i faced were:
Getting people to grade my storyboard which i didn't understand what was to be done and thinking of the 2nd storyboard
what i think i will try to do differently in the next criterion is:
submit my work earlier
try my hardest to understand the work given in detail and ask the teacher if i still don't understand
Try and get better feedback from my peers and mr fred
overall this was a great learning experience and i really learned alot in this criterion
A quote that a man once said
ReplyDeleteIn this room we don't to easy we make easy happen through hard work and learning.
Hi everyone,
My experience was really exciting for me because we learnt how to help people and the world through animations.I learnt how to make storyboards which I never knew of.
I was really excited to help design the storyboards and also to help fred. In this short spam of time I only did not get to learn about ict but also got to bond with other classmates I have never got a chance to meet
So overoll it was a very good experience
I would like to end with a quote
The best way to predict your future is to create it- Abraham Licon
Thank You
Azmat 6A
Another hard time for work. I think that in digital design.i learned even more than last time. I now know many things about D.D. Everyone and i am also exited to make an animation beacuse i have never made one
ReplyDeletei am ready for the challenge
bring it on
thanks eshak
Hi everyone,
ReplyDeleteMy journey was amazing.
There were so many things i had to learn, for example: My organization skills, time management and responsibility. Drawing my very own storyboard was fun interesting and was a whole new experience but i faced some challenges like coming up with an idea for the story, coming up with the characters and finding an idea for storyboard 2 as well as getting people to grade my work.
Now i know what i have to work on (Organization and time management) to get my work done easier.
